Youth Sports at the Y is for boys and girls (co-ed) who want the opportunity to play in an organized sports program. Skill development, participation, and teamwork are stressed in this non-competitive program. Practice is once a week, for one hour. Games are each Saturday (Time - TBD). VOLUNTEER COACHES ARE NEEDED. Youth sports is run largely by the support of volunteers. Each family's service is instrumental in ensuring a fun and successful experience for our participants. 100% of our Youth Sports teams are coached by volunteer coaches. Many are parents who have children on the same team. There must be at least one parent volunteer to help coach a team. We administer backgrounds checks, in-person interviews, volunteer packet form, volunteer training(s) and Coaches Code of Conduct Form. Please consider volunteering to coach to help us fill this need. Anyone can be a volunteer: coach-moms, dads, aunts or uncles, friends, or college students, through the appropriate trainings. As a volunteer coach, you'll give back to the community and help us teach teamwork and positive values to youth, through sport. Our staff will provide the support needed to become a coach at each practice, including curriculum that offers step-by-step guidance of how to successfully lead a team each session. Our sports program runs on the time, effort and commitment of our volunteers and we appreciate all that you do.
