Working with the Branch Executive Director, the Branch Board provides input and direction as to the operation of the branch. The Branch Board primarily concerns itself with the effective operation of the branch in service to its constituents and pursuit of the Association’s goals and priorities. It is also responsible for building a strong base of support for the branch in the community (through contributions, volunteers and collaborations) in order that the branch may carry out its activities.

Branch Board of Managers will support the Executive Director in developing and implementing the branch strategic plan goals and will ensure adequate funding through their direct participation in the annual Community Campaign which provides resources for branch and youth development high impact program support. Branch Board of Managers will seek opportunities to increase the Y's visibility and impact in the surrounding community.

Summer Youth Volunteer Opportunities

This is a great opportunity for youth ages 13-17 to gain volunteer experience either for school requirements, or for personal growth. Volunteer opportunities include time working at the Front Desk in Customer Service, time working with Youth in our Kids Club Program, or time working on our Wellness Floor with our members.

Volunteer Advisor for 2026 Model United Nations - YMCA of Silicon Valley

6th-8th grade students will learn about current affairs, politics and diplomacy. They will take on different roles between different program areas- Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), International Court of Justice (ICJ), Security Council, and General Assembly. Volunteer Advisors will help lead meetings, support students in program areas, and supervise during conferences. - Students & Volunteer Advisors meet Tuesdays 5:30pm-7:00pm @ Northwest YMCA Delegation; Thursdays 5:30pm to 7:00pm @ Palo Alto Family YMCA Delegation. Volunteer Advisors are welcome to sign up for either delegation. - There will be a 1-day Summit Training for Students and Advisors on March 28th at the East Palo Alto YMCA. - There will be a 3-day MUN Summit conference on May 1-3 in Los Angeles.
