2026 Palo Alto Community Health Fair

Palo Alto Family YMCA

The 9th Annual Palo Alto Community Health Fair will take place on Saturday, September 19th, 11am-2pm. This event will feature presentations from Stanford researchers and also provide workshops and vendor resources hosted by nonprofit health organizations. The health fair garners around 1,000 attendees from the community each year. Every year, students from local high schools join our planning and day-of hosting organizing teams. This is a great opportunity for students to engage with health professionals while also supporting the production and flow of a well-loved community event. If you are interested in volunteering, please view the roles below to apply. Volunteers hours can be approved as needed.

Adaptive Basketball Coach

The Palo Alto Family YMCA is launching our first-ever Adaptive Basketball Clinic, a program designed to support athletes of all abilities. We are seeking passionate and dedicated coaches to help create an inclusive, positive, and engaging environment for our participants. Ideal candidates are: Passionate about basketball and working with the community Patient, encouraging, and adaptable Committed to creating a safe and inclusive space Experienced with adaptive or inclusive coaching (preferred, not required) Coaches will assist with leading activities, supporting skill development, and helping ensure every participant feels welcomed, supported, and confident. Spring Youth Basketball League Volunteer Coaches

Palo Alto Family YMCA

Volunteer coaches teach fundamental basketball skills, promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development while providing a safe and fun environment for children. Responsibilities include planning and leading practices and games, communicating with parents and staff, fostering positive behavior, and ensuring equal playing time for all children. Coaches are expected to serve as positive role models, follow all YMCA rules and safety guidelines, and complete necessary background checks and training. Practices are once a week in the afternoon during the week. Games are on Saturdays, times vary.

Volunteer Advisor for 2026 Model United Nations - YMCA of Silicon Valley

Palo Alto Family YMCA

6th-8th grade students will learn about current affairs, politics and diplomacy. They will take on different roles between different program areas- Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), International Court of Justice (ICJ), Security Council, and General Assembly. Volunteer Advisors will help lead meetings, support students in program areas, and supervise during conferences. - Students & Volunteer Advisors meet Tuesdays 5:30pm-7:00pm @ Northwest YMCA Delegation; Thursdays 5:30pm to 7:00pm @ Palo Alto Family YMCA Delegation. Volunteer Advisors are welcome to sign up for either delegation. - There will be a 1-day Summit Training for Students and Advisors on March 28th at the East Palo Alto YMCA. - There will be a 3-day MUN Summit conference on May 1-3 in Los Angeles.
